I give out awards whenever I feel one is necessary.
There are two reasons that I would give you an award.
1) I found your site and found it phenomenal.
2) You did something for me, made me something,
etc. Something that made my week.
In the case of "1" you would probably receive an award as showcased below.
In the case of "2" you would probably receive an award as showcased below. If I do not know who your favorite actor is, I will e-mail you and ask who, and perhaps for a nice headshot of him/her to use in this award.
I do not entertain requests for awards, either by e-mail or in my guestbook/forum. Russell Crowe did not ask for his Oscar; it was given to him, since he deserved it. You don't ask for your award. It shall be given to you, if you deserve it.
Obviously the above awards are generic. I customize each image to fit you, your page, and/or the reason for the award. I also make them look much nicer. These generic awards were made using MSPaint. The real awards I create with Paint Shop Pro 6 (at least, I do most of the time).
Award 1 is usually black or some other dark colour, oftentimes outlined around the edges to make it look more professional. Award 2 is white. I outline the award with lines of a certain colour; which one depends on my mood. Award 2 is white because it works best with all images, be they b&w or colour.
